David M. Smith

David M. Smith became chief operating officer for Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen international division in May 2005.
Mr. Smith served as chief financial officer for Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen from 2002 to 2005 and vice president of finance for AFC Enterprises from 1997 to 2001.
From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Smith was financial manager of the Asia-Pacific Group with McDonald’s International Division where his primary focus was on operations in Japan.
Prior to his restaurant experience, Mr. Smith worked as a general service auditor and financial consulting manager.
Mr. Smith received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Economics from the University of St. Thomas where he also received a master’s in International Management. Mr. Smith has conversational knowledge of Japanese and is a Certified Public Accountant.
